 Pinehurst Canyon Watershed Clean-Up

Clean up done by EBMUD in July 2005. Workers called the stuff they hauled out "the most photographed pile of junk they've ever had to haul." Three days (and only half way into the whole job), the crew have retrieved an unbelievable assortment of stuff from the watershed canyon. Twenty-two cars for starters (with still more trapped below), refrigerators, washers and dryers, TVs, heaps of car tires, clothes. Workers didn't think that a clean-up like this has done before, so it's possible some of the cars fished out have been down there for many years.

[Update 30 July 2005: Rode up Pinehurst again today after a round trip to Mt. Diablo. EBMUD crews were finishing up the removal of the crap they dug out from the canyon. Final count: twenty seven cars, about 700 car tires, and a whole buncha other shit.]
