Day 3: 10.vi.2003
Dear Jennifer -- Rest stop 4 outdoes it again. Get this: Pilgrims at Mission San Miguel and... cyclists volunteering to be flogged at a stock. As if this would alleviate the torture our asses have already taken from the lunar surface of today's roads. Wait -- yep, still have all my teeth. About 80 miles today, most beset with headwinds. Otherwise, weather was idyllic, hardly topping 85 where it's usually over 100 degrees this time of year. Bradley school kids served us fundraiser burgers for lunch. Food at camp is excellent (Port-a-Pit again). Oh by the way, I busted Quadbuster, and it busted me right back. Heard about one of the fastest (determined to be) riders plowing into cattle today. Both presumably unhurt as we're still aching from belly laughs about it. Miss you and wish you were here.
